Join Our Delivery Team – Self-Employed Role with SM Logistic Services

We’re currently recruiting self-employed delivery drivers to work with us in partnership with DPD, collecting parcels from our Medway locker hub and delivering across the local area.

​

What You Need to Know

​

• This is a self-employed position — you’ll need to register with HMRC and complete your own tax return annually.

• Holiday pay and sick pay are not included, so we recommend setting up a personal savings plan to cover these.

• Training and uniform are provided, and you’re welcome to attend an unpaid experience day to get a feel for the role before applying.

 

Pay Structure

​

• £0.95 per successful stop

• Example: 20 stops per hour = approx. £18/hour

• Weekly earnings depend on how many parcels you choose to deliver — e.g., 30 stops/day earns less than 80–100 stops/day.

 

Flexible Hours

​

• Parcels typically arrive at the Medway locker around 10am.

• You choose your working hours — whether full rounds or shorter shifts (e.g., 10am–2pm for school runs).

• Please note: shorter shifts mean fewer stops, which affects your earnings.

• Local knowledge helps — choosing areas you know well can save time and improve efficiency.

 

Requirements

​

• Smartphone (for access to DPD Saturn app)

• Right to work in the UK

• Basic DBS check (required)

• Full UK driving licence (max 6 points)

• DPD provides hire and reward insurance at £3/day, deducted from your weekly pay.
